Responsibility is one of the core corporate values at SJA Real Estate
Responsibility is one of the core corporate values at SJA Real Estate, and to us, it’s more than just a buzzword.
At SJA, the idea of responsibility is more than accounting for the business services we provide and more than assuming responsibility for our clients. To us, responsibility means taking proactive, action-oriented steps focused on benefiting our local communities and solving problems.
Our charitable endeavors reflect these goals, as we give back to the community, and those in need. SJA takes pride in our leadership role, and we use it to address some of the area’s most significant problems.
SJA’s owners, staff, property managers, and real estate brokers are also engaged in the community as Girls Scouts cookie parents, chamber of commerce members, school district fundraisers, board members for the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery, volunteer coaches, mentors, non-profit event organizers, and more.
Some of our current community efforts include:
SJA Real Estate underwrites all the operating costs for the non-profit Feed Washington.
Feed Washington was founded in 2003 and is run by Eirik Olsen (one of the SJA partners). Feed Washington’s purpose is to end hunger for the nearly 300,000 hungry children in Washington State.
To date, Feed Washington has provided over 500,000 meals for our State’s hungry kids.
Participation in the Big Climb.
The Big Climb is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s largest local fundraising event. All proceeds go to LLS’s mission to cure Leukemia, Lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and Myeloma and to improve the quality of life for patients and their families.
Village Theater: Youth Education
KIDSTAGE classes and camps are designed to engage and build skills for students of various experience levels, whether they are brand new to theatre, or have been taking classes for years.
Justice and Soul
Justice and Soul empowers trafficked and at-risk young women and men to become confident and self-sufficient individuals through professional training in cosmetology.
“Livable income is necessary for an individual to exit the sex trade. Without it, a person is unable to sustain housing and meet other basic needs. A job that understands trauma and gives dignity, affirms a person’s value beyond their body and increases the possibility to continue work in the future.”
